Read this Before Buying a Persian Cat

I love Persian kitties, but if you're thinking of getting one, check his or her face before you buy. Sometimes breeders get the noses so squished in that the cat ends up with health problems.

My sister had a Persian cat with an extremely squashed face. (He was named Squishy Face.) His nose was practically between his eyes. He had terrible trouble breathing and was constantly dripping a brown mucus from his eyes. He'd sneeze a lot and we'd have that brown gunk sprayed on the walls. He also had trouble drinking without getting his whole face in the water bowl, and the water would mix with that mucus and drip down his chest. Eww. He was such a little love, but nobody wanted to touch him.

When I got Smoke, I made sure that his face was a little more pushed out and he's never had any problems.
